Hi all - this week we have revenues, revenues, and more revenues! There are 22 stamp auctions coming to a close tonight. Twenty one are US revenue issues and one Scott #24.
Those revenue issues range in catalog value from $25 up to over $200. All are in nice condition, and as I recall, none have those unwanted “cut cancels”. There are imperfs, part-perfs, and fully perforated issues. With the imperfs and part-perfs, I’ve examined them under my microscope and none have any traces of "perf remnants”. Those are the little tiny remains of where a perforation had been trimmed off by a scammer in an attempt to make a fully perforated revenue stamp into an imperf or part-perf stamp. I've run across quite a few of them and they are frustrating, to say the least. Those that I do find are offered as fully perforated stamps, and identified as being trimmed. The cheaper ones are sent to the trash bucket.
Anyway, this is a nice selection of those Civil War era revenue stamps that should help you fill in some missing entries in your US collection.
