Happy new year! First auction closing of the year for us. Been a cold, cold week - we’ve had a couple nights at zero or below and the day time highs under 20 degrees. Several inches of snow last week sure made it look like winter really is here. Idaho weather is NOT for wimps!
Well, tonight we’ve got 11 stamp auctions coming to a close and they’re all mid 19th century fancy cancel classics. Two groups of nice Scott 65 with various fancy cancels, a Scott 72 with a San Francisco cog wheel type I cancel, 78a with a similar cancel, Scott 69 with a type II and a Scott 69 with a type III cancel. Also have two different Scott 71s with fancy cancels, a Scott 70 with a rather rare Hingham, MA “bat” cancel, and lastly a Scott 78 with a pretty red grid cancel.
All in all, a lot of high catalog value stamps up for bid this evening. Have fun bidding and don’t get sniped on the first auctions of the new year!
