Our Items: Supplemental

In addition to the 26 auction items that are closing tonight, I have put up two fixed price / make offer stamps in our eBay store. Both stamps come with an expertization certificate.

The first is a Scott 112, the 1¢ buff Ben Franklin stamp fro 1869. What makes this particular used stamp valuable is that it has a nice light green cancel. You don’t see many stamps with green cancellations, and thus the catalog value of this beauty is $930. It is well worth our asking price of $125.

The second “new” stamp in our eBay store is……. a used Scott 39. The 90¢ Washington stamp from 1860. This stamp, with red cancellation, has a catalog value of $10,000. Yes, you read that right - ten thousand dollars. I had it sent out for authentication, as I didn’t want to sell a bogus stamp with that kind of CV. The expertizer feels that the stamp has been extensively repaired. Well, as I note in the auction description, I have examiined this stamp using a microscope and do not see ANY of the repairs he mentioned. But, he’s the expert, not me. If it in fact has been repaired, someone did a very, very good job of it.

Take a look at these two and consider adding one or both to your collection.
