Greetings and welcome to the end of September! Sure is nice not to have those nasty 100+ degree days any longer. Been in the high 80’s and predicted to only hit mid 70’s in the upcoming week or so. Yippee!!
Tomorrow evening we have 17 stamp auctions coming to a close. You will find 19th century classics like Scott 36, 17 (red cancel), 68, 73, 87, 70, 78b, 291, 119, 76, and 77. There is also an interesting item: a Scott 71 (30¢ Franklin) that initially looked like a Scott 100 (F-grill). However, after having an expert examine it, turns out that the grill is a fake! It was applied with the points facing up, not down as they are supposed to be. Big difference in catalog value!
In addition, we’ve got two very early 20th century offerings this week. There is a plate number block of six of Scott 484 and a block of six Scott 384 with plate number, BEP imprint, and star. Both are unused, previously hinged. We’ve got several more old classic imperf plate blocks in our stock and will be posting them on eBay in the upcoming weeks, so stay tuned!
And lastly (for this week, anyway!) we have added two more stamps with certificates to our eBay store as “fixed price” items, for a total of three. We have a Scott 63b (SCV $850), Scott 91 (SCV $625), and Scott 11 on piece with Green Cancel (SCV $140). We are open to any reasonable offer on these three…
Good luck with your bidding!
